S&S Cheesesteaks

If you are looking for cheesesteaks in the DFW area; A great new place to try is S&S Cheesesteaks. We came across this tiny shack in Arlington, TX. That afternoon, we were on a mission to find snowballs and something new to try. We didn’t normally eat cheesesteaks when we would go out; So, it was a different experience for me! I can admit, my family and I have eaten here a few times after our first initial visit. We can vouch that they are very consistent with the food they put out!

What We Expected

Now, let me tell you, when we found this place, it still had the previous shack owners logo and business name up. In disbelief, We pulled up thinking it was a snowball stand because of the previous business title. The google maps had not updated either which was how we ended up there. While in the drive-through, we are thinking we were about to get the best of both worlds (which was trying a new cheesesteak and myself getting the snowball I had been craving for three days prior). We got a slap in the face the moment I ordered just to hear that they don’t serve SNOWBALLS lol; I was so disappointed. It wasn’t all bad though. I can admit the food was great.

Our Food and Experience

Our sandwiches were a great size for the price, it also came with fries. You have an option of seasoned or unseasoned fries. We have tried both throughout our many trips here. The seasoned fries taste like the old bay seasoning; Not bad but an acquired taste for some. my husband and I prefer the fries without the seasoning. If you want to order a drink, they only offer can drinks and bottled water at the moment of this review. The sandwich and fries will more than likely get you full, be sure to show up with an appetite. They offer different types of cheesesteaks to appeal to many different taste buds.

My husband and I have tried two different cheesesteaks from their menu. The two we tried is the regular cheesesteak and the Texas cheesesteak. The difference between the two cheesesteaks is that the Texas cheesesteak has everything the original does but it also comes with a yellow cheese on it. The original cheesesteak is made with French bread, steak, onion, mushrooms, bell peppers, provolone, and mozzarella. I prefer the original over the Texas version. Next time, I plan to try their cheesesteak fries! I will be sure to let you know how that goes!

Conclusion

If you ever want a quick meal or just a good cheesesteak, this is a great place to check out. Also, there is a pretty big parking lot around it where you can park and eat. Don’t sleep on them, it’s definitely worth the money and the drive, Thank me later.

MY FINALE UPDATED REVIEW

Update: This place is one of our regular go-to spots now! We eat here all the time and this place has gone through MANY MANY changes since our first visit. It has become a place of its own. They have gotten rid of the old signage from the previous owners. The place has been painted with their logo/name on the side. They also added a bigger stand-alone sign, you can see from the street. They have created their ambiance in front with tables and seating. The sun shaders and string lights added to the front made the space more intimate. It’s looks great as the sun goes down. The outside isn’t the only thing that’s changed here. The food has gone through some changes also, which includes the bread not being the same as the first time we went but it’s still good and doesn’t take away from the sandwich. They changed some of the cheese they use but like the bread, it didn’t take away from the sandwich! The food is still really great and next time I plan to try the cheesesteak fries, I’ll have to let yall know how they are next time!

Side note: The Cheesesteak fries are amazing and very big portions! The fries come in two different sizes, regular and large.

Lets Talk? Do you love cheesesteaks? What places have your favorite cheesesteak?
