Lakanto Product review

Lakanto Food Review

I had the pleasure of working with and reviewing Lakanto products: the monk fruit sweetener: classic white sugar replacement and the golden sugar, along with the Lakanto suntella chocolate sunflower spread.

All Lakanto products are sugar-free, made from 100% handpicked monk fruits. They offer breakfast foods, baking mixes, monk fruit sweeteners, and liquid monk fruit extract.

Monk fruit is a small round fruit in the gourd family, also known as Luo Han Guo, named after the Luo Han monks who discovered it. Monk fruit tastes just like sugar with zero net carbs, zero calories, & zero glycemic sweeteners. Monk fruit extract is all-natural, so you avoid the drawbacks of artiļ¬cial sweeteners. Lakanto Monk fruit products are great for keto diets and are diabetic friendly.

What got sent to me

I received the Lakanto monk fruit sweetener in flavors: classic white sugar replacement and Golden replacement sugar, & Lakanto Suntella chocolate sunflower spread. I thought the packaging was very nice it was an Asian inspired design in their signature red, black, and white. Lakanto sugar replacement packaging came with a thick and sturdy resealable bag. The Suntella came in a plastic cylinder container with a twist-off top. I did Receive their signature branding reusable bag that says discover your Chi as favors for guests.

What I Made

The two recipes to decided to try with the products were 2 of my favorite home New Orleans style sugar-based treats that I love. Praline Pecan candy and my grandma’s favorite Pecan pie! I will link the two recipes down below. I chose these two recipes because each one requires using brown and white sugar; what better way to try out the products than these. We also did a little spin on one by mixing in some suntella.

My Review

Comparing recipes, I can taste the subtle difference between them using the regular sugar versus the monk fruit sugar replacement. The Lakanto classic white sugar replacement did taste closer to regular sugar. Coming from a home of diabetic, I have had my fair share of tasting lots of different sugar replacements. I can honestly say it is the better tasting sugar replacement by far, that is compared to Truvia sweetener as well; that was the most recent one that I believed tasted like sugar the most until I tasted these Lakanto products. Making the praline pecan candy with it honestly made it more bearable to eat with the sugar replacement than with the regular sugar.

Sometimes eating praline pecan candy was a struggle for me because it was too sweet to eat. Making it with the Lakanto monk fruit sugar replacements made it a more mellow sweet. It was sweet enough not to make you sick the way regular sugar can get when you have to much of it. As for the pecan pie, it came out perfect and tasted exactly the way it would if I would have used regular sugar. I did look on the Lakanto website, the prices for everything are very reasonable.

One bag of the classic white sugar replacement will run you anywhere from 6.99 to 25.99 dependent on size. The bag may seem small, but this sugar replacement is so sweet you do not need a lot to accomplish the level of sweetness you need. So keep in mind, it is an all-natural product compared to the artificial chemical sweeteners you see in the store when it comes to comparing prices. The suntella is similar to a chocolate hazelnut spread. The suntella has a subtle nutty flavor and a great chocolate taste, it’s sweet, and not lacking in any way compared to come of the other nut versions of Nutella I’ve tasted.

I would purchase this product & I am very grateful to have this sent to me. I encourage you to try out their products if my picky husband was able to enjoy it, believe me, you really won’t be disappointed!

Lets Talk: Have you tried Lakanto monk fruit products? if so what products have you tried and if not which products would you like to try?
