So you may have to travel to taste this unique eatery Depending on where you live. They say it’s an Indo-Asian affair, ranging from vegetarian dishes and meals loaded with meat; there are plenty of options for everyone. They do also have a vegan and a gluten-free menu; Check their website at www.masalawok.com to see their full online food menu.
We went to one of the locations in Richardson, Texas, after visiting a few baby stores nearby. We did not know of this place and came across it searching for Seafood food. We thought the name was interesting and worth checking out. Partly catfished (thought it was a seafood restaurant), We pulled up and quickly looked at the website, realizing it wasn’t what we had in mind. They claimed to be Family-friendly, and my husband and I went inside with our two daughters. Overwhelmed with a menu stocked full of options, we did not know what to choose.
Upon walking inside, you seat yourself, and someone serves you your food at your table. The atmosphere was a little stifling (lots of long stares and glares); Not so welcoming, but that could have been from the customers and not the business. Although the menu had lots of options, it wasn’t too complicated. It was hard to decide a food choice when you like most of their options. I ended up staying in my safe zone and chose to get the sesame chicken with fried rice. I mean, how can you go wrong with that? My husband had decided to get fried rice with chicken and shrimp, And I thought I was keeping it safe! Lol.
To our surprise, the portions were full and big. Considering three of us were eating, it looked like we barely put a dent in our food. It was hard for us to finish it in the restaurant, and We took the rest home. The food was delicious, and the chicken we ordered; was prepared perfectly. The rice was traditional, how I expected. As for the drinks, they only carry Pepsi products; they did have some new drinks I had never seen or heard of before. I tried a pineapple club soda drink out of the rare selection; it tasted better than I expected, considering I am not a full fan of most Pepsi products. I’m telling yall the drink was just that good, I would go back just for the Soda alone!
All-in-all, This place is a little more on the pricier side for what it is but nothing that would break your pockets. At least, in my opinion, I wouldn’t categorize this in my cheap meals, but the food is delicious and worth the money. Max, we spent about $35 on two plates and two drinks (drinks sold separately). So worth a try! We haven’t tried Indian food yet, but the food was tasty enough to give me a reason to go back and try it! When we do, I’ll be sure to come back and update this review!.
