family journey to an organic and natural lifestyle

Our family journey to a more organic and natural lifestyle

My husband and I have always talked about creating a healthy lifestyle for our daughters; Especially with all of these GMO unnatural plants and unhealthy meat. Luckily for us, our oldest does not eat much meat, and they both love veggies and fruits. So while they are young, we decided to make it mandatory we fix our diet and get rid of toxic materials and items out of our lifestyle.

A few of the first small changes we have made were switching to an all-natural toothpaste. Switching was one of the best things we have done and has been a game-changer for our gums and teeth dealing with sensitivity!

Another change we decided to transition into was a more alkaline based diet. So we have been slowly cutting meat from our diets and other processed foods first. The goal is to be on a full alkaline lifestyle. But we have been taking small steps each month to make that happen. So more plant-based is the goal. I love finding new things for us to try and make even with a picky eater (my husband lol).

Another natural change we have made is switching to natural hair products and body products such as soap, deodorant, and oil/lotions. I will admit I had to try many brands before finding my perfect one. Although some are good brands, I do have unusually sensitive skin and can not use most natural products. Many things make my eczema flare-up, including some natural products. So if you decide to go a natural route to come across items that give you trouble, keep looking. There are many many other products to try that do not all have the same ingredients in them. Lots of alternatives, I will make a list of my favorites and other items to help you have a place to start! Natural hair products also work great on my children’s’ hair. Remember, just because it is natural does not guarantee that it will work for you. Find out your hair porosity and try different things to see what your hair likes so you can have an idea of how to keep or get your hair in its best state.

Going natural is still a journey: we are always finding new ways to grow natural foods and use more eco-friendly items. Following a Dr.Sebi based diet and incorporating a more eco-friendly lifestyle is becoming the best for our family: I hope our kids will take it with them as they grow into adulthood. This earth will be theirs once we are gone. Without us, we want them to have a great foundation and be able to teach others to thrive, to live a healthy and better version of their selves.

I will give updates and insight into the changes we have made or added to our lifestyle for us as a family or just for the girls. It will be a wild and exciting journey, but I am ready for us to be an exceptional version of ourselves. I will share some of the meals and recipes we make and try: Along with natural and eco-friendly options for anyone starting, transitioning, or even already there and just looking for new alternatives!
